Coach Wade Report – February 20, 2026

Hi,
Coach Wade here.
What’s the catch?
Prospects are naturally skeptical. They’re always searching for the hidden “catch.” And when they’re in that mindset, it blocks our message from getting through. If they don’t believe us, even the best presentation in the world won’t matter.
So what do we do?
We start with something they already believe.
When we begin from common ground, it’s much easier to guide our message into their thinking. Instead of trying to convince, we connect.
What are some beliefs most people already agree with?
- We all want to live longer.
- It would be nice to fire the boss.
- More vacation time would be great.
- Looking good matters.
- Nobody wants to die young.
- Electric bills are too high.
Notice the shift?
When we start where they already agree, resistance drops. Now our message has a real chance of being heard.
Will everyone join immediately?
Of course not.
Some people — especially analytical, detail-oriented personalities — need time to think things through.
That means one thing:
We must follow up.
And here’s the truth… most new distributors don’t even realize that follow-up is a skill. It’s our responsibility as leaders to teach them how to do it correctly.
Great follow-up actually begins during the first conversation. We don’t want our second call to feel like another cold call. Instead, we schedule a follow-up with a clear reason to reconnect.
That’s much better than leaving awkward voicemail messages that go unanswered.
Don’t listen to what people say
This part is important.
A distributor might say, “Oh yes, I want to build a big business!”
Sounds great.
But then you invite them to Saturday training and they respond, “Saturday? That’s my rest day. SpongeBob reruns are on.”
Here’s the lesson:
Don’t believe what people say.
Watch what they do.
Our actions reveal our priorities.
If someone says they want success, but their schedule says otherwise, the schedule is telling the truth.
As leaders, we observe behavior — and we coach accordingly.
Success isn’t about hype.
It’s about alignment between words and action.
Let’s build teams that act.
