Coach Wade Report – December 24th, 2025
Hi — Coach Wade here.
One of my favorite ways to start a conversation is with this simple phrase:
“If you’re like most people…”
Why does it work so well? Because most people want to be like most people. When they hear those words, their instinct is to agree with whatever comes next.
Listen to how natural this sounds in everyday conversation:
- “If you’re like most people, you’d love to be your own boss.”
- “If you’re like most people, you’re too busy to spend hours in the gym.”
- “If you’re like most people, you want to slow down aging and look younger longer.”
- “If you’re like most people, your job gets in the way of your life.”
Statements like these almost make you sound like a mind-reader. Prospects nod along because they feel understood. And once people feel understood, they become open to hearing what you have to say next.
Ignorance Kills Motivation
Here’s a simple truth: we avoid what we don’t feel good at.
I don’t dance. It doesn’t come naturally to me. Am I motivated to dance? Not at all. The idea of embarrassing myself on a dance floor isn’t exactly appealing.
The same thing happens with new distributors. When they don’t know what to say to prospects, they avoid conversations altogether. No one enjoys feeling awkward or unprepared.
That’s why leadership matters.
As leaders, it’s our responsibility to equip our team with simple, effective opening sentences that make conversations easy. When people know what to say—and say it well—their confidence rises.
And confidence creates motivation.
So here’s a powerful question to ask yourself today:
What new opening lines have I taught my team?
Because people naturally feel motivated to do what they’re good at—and leaders make people good at what matters most.
